German for Beginners

If you have no knowledge of German, studied it at school but have forgotten everything or have been there on holiday and want to talk to the locals a little in their language, German for beginners might be for you.

I will provide a little bit of structure in the lessons as that helps many people but at the same time I want to answer your questions about all sorts of things to do with the German and Germany as we go along. My approach to teaching German is to do it in a fun way so we can all enjoy the experience. I have a great passion for the language and I believe that if we are enjoying what we do we can increase the amount of learning we get. I want to take things at a speed that means that nobody gets left behind and that your confidence grows in what you do.

We will meet at my home on South Beach and work round the dining room table. The advantages of this are that there is no weekly cost and I have ready access to all sorts of resources that might be of help, including German TV. From 2 classes will meet on a Tuesday, one at 10am and another at 1.30 pm.

If you want to join the group or if you have any questions please ring me(Phil Mason) on 07792022707 or send me a text/WhatsApp message. Alternatively you can use the link on this page to send me an email. I will get back to you as quickly as I can. When you have joined the group I will send you my address.

The book I intend using to provide the structure is called-

'Carla will nach Deutschland' by Daniela Fries. I have just checked Amazon, the paperback is £8.95 and the Kindle version is £2.89. I recommend that anyone joining the group has a copy as you may not be able to follow everything we do without it. A notebook may also be of use at times
