Strolling/Walking Groups overnight at Bellingham

Great couple of days in the lovely village of Bellingham. Wednesday afternoon after settling in was a gentle stroll along the river Tyne bank from the Riverdale Hall Hotel to Boat road and then back to the village. Walk up to Tea on the Train and the Heritage Museum. Enjoyed a late lunch on the Train, very nice. Kevin organised a quiz where Maureen was victorious and a good night was had by all.

Thursdays walk was a bit more strenuous to Hareshaw Linn, a waterfall leading to a tributary of the Tyne. This proved to be a lovely walk through glades of very old trees following the valley. There were six bridges to cross and some ups and downs that required careful stepping (walking poles and helping hands were very useful). Pictures on the Strolling and Walking group page 7 for the photo gallery.

Everyone was very happy with our stays at the Fountain Cottage and the Riverdale Hall and the Guinness at the Cheviot went down well.
